The annual Powder Puff and He-Man volleyball tournament was held on a warm and sunny Saturday, Nov. 15. The Powder Puff teams consisted of the seniors and sophomores playing against the juniors and freshmen, which was contrary to previous years when upperclassmen played underclassmen.
Because no sophomores signed up to play football, the seniors filled the team themselves and won the football game 41-6. The senior group was undefeated all three years Powder Puff was offered.
“(It) just shows how good we are,” senior Macie Hartman said. “We’re just better.”
After the football game was complete, the boys competed in the volleyball tournament in the gym. He-Man volleyball had an individual team per class, with the sophomores ultimately coming out champions.
The boys said they realized that some aspects of volleyball were harder than they thought.
“Blocking a ball (was harder), because the ball can literally go anywhere, and half the time you only have one person blocking,” junior Caleb Newell said.
