The past few years, the fall play had a spooky Halloween theme, but “The Vile Veterinarian” was a little different. The story was set in a pet shop and hotel in an old western town. It followed the owner, a widow, and her granddaughter who fell in love with the local cowpoke, in a melodramatic tale of saving the shop/hotel from foreclosure. The show was filled with dramatic and wacky characters.
“(My character is) Ray Beeze/Dr. Beeze; he’s really funny,” senior Konner Bidwell said. “It’s low key fun being evil too, and he has silly lines.”
Several of the cast members said they struggled with accents and memorizing lines.
“(I struggled with) memorizing lines,” freshman Klara Ast said. “It’s different once you get on stage.”
