On April 6, band and Cardinalaires solos and ensembles went to Regionals at Butler Community College. In total, 12 vocal and seven band solos and ensembles were performed at Butler.
“[I think it] went good. Everything ran on time and everyone performed well,” sophomore Jase Downey said. “My solo went good; it improved a bit, but needs more work to be better at state.”
The Cardinalaires sang first in the morning and received a I rating, followed by the men’s ensemble who received a II rating.
“I think we did good; we blended together well,” freshman Adysen Conkle said. “[For Cardinalaires] we sang ‘I Believe’ by Mark Miller, and I feel like everyone did well that day.”
Performances that got a I rating move on to state in Hillsboro.
“The Cardinalaires and 8 soloists are going to State Music at Tabor College on April 27,” music director Stephanie Bodley said. “They put a lot of work into those performances, and it showed. There is always room for improvement, but it just gives us motivation to strive for the highest in the future.”
