The spooky season brings many different opportunities for Stuco to hold activities. One from previous years was a costume contest for faculty and students. The winner of the solo costume contest for students was sophomore Ashton Stull.
“I was very excited [to win] because I put a lot of effort into my costume, and it was fun dressing up,” said Stull.
An activity that was new this year was providing discounted tickets for the haunted house Field of Screams. Living up to its name, there were plenty of screams heard that night.
“I was screaming so much,” junior Jan Stuhlsatz said. “I just loved it when the guy with the chainsaw chased after me… I was scared for my life. It was fun to be with friends and be scared with them.”
Another new activity was the opportunity for students to buy each other a bag of tricks or a bag of treats. Tricks contained jelly beans varying from normal yummy flavors, BeanBoozled, and flaming hot flavors. With flaming spices and vile flavors, the tricks were definitely something someone would not want to receive. Sophomore Sylvester Hemberger tried a spicy jelly bean out of a trick.
“I liked it even if I almost died,” he said. “It was a lot of fun.”
