Athletics were a big part of the school year for many people. Many students participated in a sport at least once during the school year. Most coaches encouraged students to participate in PSQ.
“I want to get stronger and more physically active,” sophomore Jade Erker said. “I would like to be better at sprinting.”
Lifetime Sports was a class where the students played a sport that was going on that season. They played tennis and volleyball in the fall and basketball in the winter. They also participated in “mile day”, which was a very top-secret mission that the class goes on every Thursday.
“(What is that) why it’s confidential. I can’t say that, or do I have to say it? We walk a half mile to The Daily Scoop, then we walk the half mile back,” senior Colton Friess said. “I like this because we get out of school and get to eat ice cream.”
Coaching and Officiating was a newer class that had only been on the schedule for the past few years. In this class, students learned about officiating different sports and how to do it correctly. After completing the class, the students could officiate sports competitions.
“(I want to become an official, so this class) helps me understand more about the game,” sophomore Ethan Partika said.
