The science classrooms were filled with everything from trips to the great outdoors to experiments in the classroom and chemical reactions in test tubes.
In Chemistry classes, students learned about the elements on the periodic table.
“Actinium (is my favorite element) because its symbol is my initials,” junior Adysen Conkle said.
Environmental Science was a new class this year, taking the place of Advanced Biology, but tradition stayed the same, as students still went out on the infamous bird trip.
“My favorite thing about the bird trip was finding the first bald eagles, and Mr. (Chris) Bellar had to whip the suburban around to see them again,” junior Delaney Jones said.
While some students went outside to learn about science, others had fun in the classroom doing labs. Senior Miley Pauly said her favorite lab was a force and acceleration lab in Physics.
“The goal was to find how much force and acceleration it takes and how fast the cart moves,” she said. “The most memorable part was dropping one-kilogram weights onto the floor and then getting banned from doing that. Mr. (Brent) Martens came over with a book and some bubble wrap and said to put it under it so we didn’t scare (English teacher) Mrs. (Sierra) Ardanche (whose classroom was below his).”
