This year’s girls tennis team has 10 total players.
Although half of the team is made up of seniors and tennis is somewhat of an individual sport, some girls said they are all still very close.
“The team is really nice and easy to get along with,” freshman Paige Rusco said. Some players have had the challenge of switching between doubles and singles throughout the years and season. Sophomore Micah Wolke said they are up for the challenge, though, and push themselves no matter what they are playing.
“I would say it has not been hard (switching between doubles and singles), because a lot of the things you use in doubles you can also use in singles,” she said. “Singles and doubles both have very challenging parts, but singles has more footwork.”
With five seniors on the team, there is already preparation going on to get ready for regionals and state.
“We’ve been working really hard on movement, flowing together, and serving the ball off the court,” senior Morgan Koester said. “We have also been working on our volleys and overheads to finish and hit it off the court.”
