Each high school student had their own locker, and could choose what they did with it. Some had all of their books, folders, notebooks and supplies in their locker, while some only had the minimum kept in their lockers. Since senior Bryson Lange is only in the building during the afternoons (after being at Cowley County in the morning), he doesn’t have much in his locker.
“My locker is pretty much empty because I carry around a Trapper Keeper that holds everything,” he said.
The lockers were one of the only things that each student got to independently decorate and change.
The size of the lockers was a debate that some students had.
“(I think the locker is a good size) because I can fit all of my school stuff in it,” junior Lairen Pauly said.
Some students kept theirs tidy and clean while others let theirs get messy. People had their own ways of organizing their lockers in a way that worked best for them.
“It’s a mess, but I know where everything goes,” sophomore Bohdan Severe said.
Locker signs made a big difference for some students. Students got locker signs by being in clubs and sports. Most were made by the parents or sponsors. Some clubs such as Stuco and NHS create locker signs for the entire student body.
“Without my outside locker decorations I wouldn’t be able to find my locker, they add a sense of personality,” sophomore Kendall Baggs said.
