Spirit week was a competitive time for students to earn points for their class by dressing up, participating in the Red and White Olympics, or finding the medallion. Many students said they enjoyed dressing up in costumes during spirit week. The fall spirit week days were Meme Monday, Fat Tuesday, Night in vs. Night out Wednesday, Legendary Thursday, and the classic Red and White Friday.
“[My favorite day was] Legendary Thursday,” said junior Troy Herndon. “I got to do a partner thing with my friends.”
The students really got into the games and fought to get as many points as they could for their class. The juniors won the overall class competition.
During the game crossing the amazon, the seniors got very competitive and looked disappointed by their loss.
“[It felt] like we got robbed,” said senior Jase Downey.
Even when the students weren’t participating, they said they enjoyed watching their friends play the games and cheering them on.
“I liked [watching] the sack race,” sophomore Daisy Severe said. “Everyone was about to fall, and I thought it was funny.”
