Students in art classes have done a lot of projects through this year, one of them being Chameleon Art. The Chameleon Art project is introduced in Art 1 with teacher Jennifer Potts. This project is building on skills they have previously learned, such as how to add shade into certain shapes with color and how to be creative through their own minds.
“Chameleon art is a game/challenge to students that make their own chameleon and hide it in the room while you find others,” senior Cade Howell said.
Students in Art 1 got to decide how to make their own chameleon, using their own creativity to find what they want to blend their chameleon into. Some have blended it into certain objects like a color wheel, poster boards and the flag, and some have chosen to blend their chameleon into the floor, wall or ceiling.
“I blended mine into the wall and floor because it looked the easiest and no one else had done much on the floor,” senior Madi Campbell said.
They started the chameleon art project during the start of second semester. Each student was only required to make one, but they are trying to make as many as they can until the due date. Due to it only being in only Art 1, other people in different art classes look around the classroom to point out how many chameleons they can find and where they’re located.
“I think there’s 36 chameleons,” senior Gage Schmidt said. “It is something that takes time and patience. I was satisfied with the work I did.”
