As usual, a lip sync was held as a winter homecoming competition in the high school auditorium on Feb. 7. Teams of students from each grade picked out songs and created dances and movements to go along with what songs they chose. The performances were judged by staff members Kristy Martin, Chris Bellar, and Matt Biehler.
Many students used their resources by looking up inspiration and working together for the movements.
“We came up with the dance by thinking of movements that matched the lyrics,” freshman Bri King said. “Micah [Wolke] also looked up some videos for inspiration.”
Some students said they found it hard to participate for the fear of being embarrassed.
“I was a little nervous at first, but I ended up having fun,” sophomore Aaron Doll said.
The teachers also participated, dancing to the song “Stayin’ Alive.” They performed after the seniors while the final votes were being tallied.
“(English teacher Tamara) Salisbury picked the song,” FACS teacher Emma Willert said. ”She found it on YouTube, with the dance already made.”
