This year, there are four seniors on the cheerleading team out of a total of five cheerleaders. These seniors all started at different times, with Lacey Kelly cheering since her sophomore year, Audrey Warren since her junior year, and Riley Fevella beginning this year. Since this is their senior year, most, if not all of the cheerleaders’ careers will come to an end soon.
These girls said the upperclassmen from previous years are one of the key reasons they joined cheer.
“Hannah Zoglmann and Julia encouraged me to try out,” Warren said.
The cheer season lasts almost a year from tryouts to cheer camp, football season, and basketball season. Kelly, Warren and Fevella all said football was their favorite.
“[My favorite sport to cheer for is] football. There was a full team, and people actually showed up to cheer. There was more crowd engagement,” Fevella said.
Throughout the years, these cheerleaders said they have created many great memories, some of which they will never forget.
“During junior year cheer camp, the two people who we thought would make a cute couple got engaged that same night,” Kelly said.
