After the students took their last finals on Dec. 19, the Battle of the Classes took place. There were three sessions in which students could play various games they had previously signed up for. The games took place in different locations such as the commons, library, auditorium, gym, and classrooms. A lot of the same games were played, such as Just Dance and musical chairs, but Stuco also added some new games such as Super Smash Bros. and Guess the Christmas song.
“[My favorite game was] probably ping pong,” sophomore Aaron Doll said. “I was cheering for Sylvester. He did okay.”
Ping pong took place in the commons, along with Spoons.
“I played Spoons and the freshmen lost, but it was fun,” freshman Mireyah Conkle said.
For the last session, all students gathered into the gym to watch tug of war. The juniors ended up winning after the seniors let go of the rope.
“The outcome was kind of obvious just looking at everyone,” Conkle said. “I wasn’t surprised that the juniors won.”
Typically, after the classes compete, the teachers compete against the winning class, but this year they did not.
“I thought the tug of war game was good but I wanted the teachers to do it,” senior Owen Friess said. “It made me ashamed that the teachers didn’t do it. I thought that was kind of wimpy. I thought it would make all the students smile.”
