The football team ended the season with an 13-0 record and a championship to cap off the undefeated season.
“[The ending of the season] surprised me a little,” senior Layne Whitney said. “It’s always the goal to win state, but it exceeds expectations a little bit.”
Expectations were high for the 2024 football season after coming off of a state championship, and players were confident for the upcoming season.
“The ending didn’t surprise me,” junior Logan Osner said. “I was pretty confident we had a good shot at going back.”
This positive attitude didn’t leave the team without work to do.
“[We worked on] working well as a team,” Whitney said. “We got better, especially at the end of the year, but kind of struggled with that at the beginning.”
Having stuff to work on didn’t stop the players from having great moments.
“Cade broke his teeth at State,” sophomore Ranger Reep said. “It was just wild and it didn’t happen in game, it happened after.”
