When it comes to physical education, there are two electives available: PSQ (Power, Strength, Quickness) and Lifetime Sports. PSQ focused more on weight training and agility, while Lifetime Sports students focused more on team sports. Physical education is also a required class for freshmen.
Junior Josalen Clutter took Lifetime Sports, and she said she had learned some lessons from the class.
“I’ve learned some sportsmanship skills,” she said. “If you don’t get along with someone, it can kind of mess up the communication during games, so you just have to put it behind you.”
On the PSQ side, students focused on building their strength by doing daily workouts in the weightroom. Students were motivated for different reasons.
“I needed to be able to lift heavier weights for work and stay active in some way,” sophomore Heath Daniel said.
Some students have learned how to push themselves in this class.
“You’re not going to get what you want every single time, you have to keep working for it,” senior Riley Fevella said. “If you want to move up and you can’t seem to get it, you just have to try and try and then you’ll eventually get it.”
