The fall play, “Frankenstein Slept Here,” was performed Nov. 16 and 17. The story follows Baroness Frankenstein (played by junior Sydney Zoglmann) who has opened her castle to other monsters. However, when the rich owner of the castle stops for a surprise visit, they all have to scramble to convince her that they are the household staff.
This year, all 12 people in the cast were returners from previous plays.
“I enjoy theater because I just love it so much, I always have,” Zoglmann said. “I enjoy how this is kind of a way to express yourself and just be a new person.”
Some cast members said that it’s not always what was on stage that made theater intriguing, but what happened backstage.
“First off, the drama that happens backstage is way better than the drama that happens on stage. Some of my close friends do it, so it’s very nice to hang out with them,” sophomore Troy Herndon said. “There’s also just trying to get into character, as well as the costumes. Melissa Doffing does really good costumes. It’s really great.”
Some people said they joined theater because of their siblings’ influence.
“It’s a different experience and it’s fun to act,” junior Anna Bender said. “My sisters were in the play and they enjoyed it.”
