This school year, Conway Springs High School got a new Ag teacher, Shelby Henley. Henley grew up in a small town, which is one of the reasons why she said she chose to teach here.
“It’s similar to where I grew up, with a similar size of school that I went to high school at,” she said.
Henley said one thing she’s looking forward to is FFA .
“It’s just starting these last couple years, and I’m just building upon what the previous teacher had started,” Henley said.“I know some of the students are very excited about that too.”
One of Henley’s goals is to connect with students.
“One of my goals is building relationships with my students because I think that’s very important to kind of just reach those students,” she said. “I want to go to their games and not only support them inside school but also outside of school.”
Overall, she said she’s looking forward to her first year of teaching.
“I have heard many good things about the students and the community,” she said.
