The spring play this year is entitled, “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon.” The hour-long play is a retelling of a few of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, with their dark and humorous endings put together into one play.
Students have already auditioned but won’t get specific parts till later on.
“I can’t wait to find out what character I’m playing,” freshman Troy Herndon said, “and to do the play alongside my friends.”
Some of the stories retold in the play are Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, and Cinderella.
“I’ve definitely looked over the play multiple times, and it is really, if I had to put it into one word, unique,” junior Faith Rivera said. “It’s interesting. You’ll see.”
Those who made the play will have to double up and play more than one character. Fourteen of the students who auditioned made the cut.
“I think this play will be a lot of fun,” drama sponsor Tamara Salisbury said. “There are a lot of wild and crazy characters, so the kids will have a lot of fun doing it.”
