On Dec. 2, the annual Winter Semi-Formal was held. As usual, Student Council sponsored this event. For the colors, members decided on emerald green and gold. Students who attended were able to dance, enjoy snacks and drinks, and take photos at the photo booth.
For the freshman class, this was a completely new experience.
“I thought it was fun,” freshman Kelly Stuhlsatz said. “I was not going to go, but then my friends
convinced me.”
For the upperclassmen, events like these can make them miss the graduated classes.
“Sophomore year was my favorite just because the class above us was still there, it was a lot more fun being around them,” senior Maddox Wylie said.
A few Stuco members had some new ideas for decorations. Senior Melissa Ebenkamp came up with the idea to have twinkling lights hang down from the curtains. Another idea (by sophomore Macie Hartman) was the photo op area. This was created by senior Julia Zoglmann and Ebenkamp.
Stuco split up into groups to help set up and clean up. Tasks included putting up/taking down the curtains and lights, setting up tables, making centerpieces for tables and arranging fake snow on the ground.
Junior Charles May helped set up for the event.
“[Setting up] was good. It took a lot longer than we thought, especially with the curtains,” he said.
