Cheer held its annual clinic during the football game on Oct. 6. More than 50 little girls, ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade, participated in the clinic. Instead of performing during halftime like they’ve done previously, they helped the cheerleaders cheer during the second quarter of the game. They were taught eight cheers in total: three offense, three defense, and two general cheers.
Despite the chaos of trying to wrangle a group of little girls, many said it went well.
“I think it went pretty good,” junior Audrey Warren said. “It looked like all the girls had a lot of fun, and they were talking about how they were looking forward to doing cheer in high school after doing that with us on Friday.”
Many cheerleaders said that the cheer clinic is a good thing for kids to partake in.
“[They should do the cheer clinic] because it gets them connected with high schoolers,” senior and captain Julia Zoglmann said.
Many memories were made for cheerleaders and little girls alike.
“The practice was pretty fun,” freshman Joslin Bartelson said. “One of them asked if she could jump on me. That was pretty funny. But I was like, yeah no, I’m not a trampoline. Overall, I had a lot of fun.”
