Nick Uhlrich is the new Algebra teacher for the 23-24 school year, and the classes he teaches include Pre Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2.
Uhlrich said he got into teaching because of his brother.
“My brother talked me into it,” he said. “He is a teacher and does a lot of coaching and told me I might be into it.”
CSHS is not Uhlrich’s first school.
“I spent the last six years teaching in Belle Plaine, so please don’t hate me for that,” Uhlrich said.
Uhlrich said he believes every student learns differently, just like teachers teach differently.
“My main teaching style is error analysis,” Uhlrich said. “In the classroom, we try to identify common errors and how to avoid those errors. I believe that mistakes are a natural part of learning in the math classroom.”
Uhlrich received his college education at Fort Hays.
“I graduated from Fort Hays State University,” Uhlrich said “As of right now I do not plan on furthering my education.”
Outside of school Uhlrich likes the outdoors.
“I enjoy hiking and biking,” Uhlrich said. “I enjoy the outdoors and camping at times.”
