With a new year, comes another big change for the volleyball team, especially for the seniors. Throughout their time on the team, they have seen many different coaching styles, as new coach Amanda Becker is their third head coach within the last four years.
“(The new coach) made us better and made us have more spark,” senior Kaley Perkins said. “We’ve never really felt like we have had an all-around thing, or chemistry with each other, and now we have really good chemistry.”
Even though they have had to face many challenges and changes, it has not stopped them from having a positive attitude for the upcoming season.
“It has been better than middle school, and I think there’s a lot of potential,” freshman Lairen Pauly said. “We’ve all had good energy.”
Positive outlooks for the season also have helped the team see losses as learning opportunities, rather than times that they failed, junior Ava Daniel said. After the few first games, the girls said they have been able to think of ways they can improve as a whole.
“We just need to keep fighting for the ball,” Daniel said.
