The senior class this year has earned more than a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships. On May 3, the senior class sat on the stage receiving recognition for their scholarships.

“I felt very blessed to have the opportunity to receive the scholarships,” senior Russell Chitwood said.

Chitwood plans on going to Hutch Community College and getting an associate’s degree in ranch management. Chitwood received eight different scholarships.

Senior Cheyanne Tull also received eight different scholarships.

“I’m going to go to Wichita State University for graphic design,” she said.

Senior Katelyn Koester plans on going to the University of Kansas and study pharmacology.

“I didn’t expect to get the Loofburrow,” she said. “I didn’t expect it because it’s based on ACT score and I didn’t have the best ACT score.”
