The baseball and softball seasons have recently started with baseball boys 2-6 and softball girls 2-4. The first baseball game was a doubleheader March 23 against Marion. The Reds lost both games 1-13 and 1-20.

“[The first game] did not go the way we wanted or expected,” sophomore Grant Fisher said.

Players said they enjoyed playing at home.

“The environment was good with all of the fans,” senior Kutter Barnes said.

Softball opened their season on March 27 at El Dorado. The Reds lost both of the games 0-12 and 0-15.

Freshman Reese Johnson said she thought the first game showed them things the team needs to work on.

“The team needs to work on being more connected, where we are all ready to do the same thing,” Johnson said.

Although it is still early in the season, the team members said they are starting to bond.

“[My favorite part is] hanging out with the team,” sophomore Ava Daniel said.
