With one of the biggest events of the school year almost here, steering committee members are busy planning. Steering committee has been getting together to organize decorations and food every Thursday. This year’s prom theme is “A Night in Vegas.” It will be held on April 15.

“I personally love the theme. When I was younger, I dreamt of a casino themed prom,” junior Aubrey Gerlach said.

The two sophomores attending prom are Isaac Winter and Regan May.

“I’d say (planning) has been running pretty smoothly; it’s been organized,” May said. “Everybody gets to do their own part.”

The dance committee has been busy with planning the decorations and picking out the music. Some ideas they have for decorations are painting boxes to look like dice, buying large sized playing cards and deciding on the crown design. They are also planning on making a balloon arch.

The food committee has been organizing the catering and designing invitations.

They also are planning to provide souvenirs like wine glasses and playing cards.

“I guess last year no one liked the food, so this year we spent a lot of time picking out a good caterer, so I’m excited to see how that turns out,” May said.

Most students said they are excited about the food and looking at the decorations.

“I’m excited to see our final decoration,” Osner said.
