The Batman

The+Batman

Batman is a story that has been remade many times. The most recent version, called “The Batman”, is a story about Bruce Wayne (Batman, played by Robert Pattinson), Selina Kyle (Catwoman, played by Zoë Kravitz), and Edward Nashton (The Riddler, played by Paul Dano). The Riddler is the main antagonist in the movie, exposing multiple highly respected public figures in Gotham. I really liked Robert Pattinson as Batman. I think the way he was portrayed very well as a more realistic version of how Bruce Wayne would actually be in the modern world.

Throughout the movie, the Riddler leaves all of these riddles addressed to Batman every time he kills another person, although Batman believed that the Penguin was the source. Batman doesn’t get any real answers from the Penguin until he captures him after a car chase on a highway. Batman and Commissioner Gordon interrogate the Penguin after the latest clue “El Rata Alada” (rat with wings), which they thought was a penguin but was actually a reference to Gil Colson working with a snitch of Falcone’s drug dealings.

The Riddler ends up killing Carmine Falcone before Batman could talk to him, and The Riddler lets himself get caught by the police where would be put in Arkham Asylum. While in Arkham Asylum, The Riddler tells Batman he knows he is Bruce Wayne. Batman goes back to The Riddlers’ apartment where he found a map of Gotham under the carpet with lights showing places where bombs have been set. Batman must then try and save the city from the bombs.

I thought this movie was amazing and I really enjoyed it. I believe the casting was almost perfect. The story itself was something I enjoyed a lot, and I see myself watching this movie many times in the future. I recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. Definitely 5 out of 5 Cardinals.
