With the global pandemic, school and activities have had a lot of restrictions put on them. However, to keep the energy of the public up, Stuco installed a display near the football field to show their cardinal spirit. 

A few days before school started, the members of Stuco put colored cups in the holes of the fence that surrounds the football field in the shape of two cardinal heads and the phrase “CARDINAL PRIDE.” 

“I think the ‘Cardinal Pride’ phrase looked really cool when it was finished,” junior and class president Emma Zoglmann said.

The members of Stuco this year are diverse this year when it comes to class representation. From seniors who have been there since the beginning to freshmen who are just starting their Stuco experience, all classes were represented in this project. 

“It’s fun because there’s a lot more people, more projects, fun activities, and a more complex system than I thought it would be,” freshman and class president Brayden Kunz said.

With all of the changes that have been made due to COVID-19, activities that Stuco usually plans and organizes had to be tweaked in order for them to abide by the social guidelines regarding the virus. However, Stuco has been brainstorming and implementing lots of different ideas, while still accomplishing their goals for the school and keeping as many traditions as possible.

“Pep Club was also involved in bringing the materials as well as FCCLA. They asked to go in on something for the school and we had to choose between the fence cups or picnic table, and we ended up choosing the cups,” sponsor Callie Bartelson said. “I think that the Stuco members are doing a great job with the new guidelines. We have several different voices and plenty of different ideas we are able to discuss and are looking forward to implementing this year.”
