A chilly night at Remington High

On Oct. 11, the Cardinals played the Remington Broncos. Despite the cold weather, the boys took the win with a final score of 42-7.
Temperatures hung in the low 40s as the game began. However, the cold weather and distance from Conway didn’t stop parents and students from filling the stands.
“I feel like [the weather] impacted the warmups, but when we started playing you couldn’t feel it,” senior and lineman Dawson Martin said
Senior and quarterback Collin Koester led
the team in rushing with 116 yards, while senior and running back Peyton Winter led the scoring with three touchdowns for the Cardinals in the first three quarters. Contrary to the usual, Conway kicked after all touchdowns with junior and kicker Cole Schulte going 6/6 on PAT attempts.
“The cold really made the ball firm to kick, but it still wasn’t too cold so I could stay stretched out,” Schulte said.
The Cardinal’s’ record now stands at a strong 5-1.
“I feel like [our record is] good, but it could be better,” Koester said. “The main thing we have to focus on [now] is getting both wins against Chaparral and Garden Plain.”
The Cardinals played Chaparral on Oct. 18, with a win 41-7, and will play Garden Plain on Oct. 25.
