Winter Homecoming is a highly competitive event among the students during the school year, especially when it comes to the annual lip sync competition. During this event, each class designates four to 10 students to choreograph and lip sync to a song or mix of songs, which they perform in front of the student body and three judges. These judges are English teacher Kristy Martin, science teacher Chris Bellar, and health teacher Matt Biehler.

This year, the freshmen performed “Stacy’s Mom”; the sophomores performed a mix of “Lazy Day” and “Baby Shark”; the juniors performed a mix of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Dude Looks Like a Lady;” and the seniors performed a Taylor Swift medley.

“I would give [our performance] an 8 out of 10; it was good but not as funny as last year’s,” senior Daniel Becker said. “I honestly think the juniors should have won.”

After the classes competed, the teachers performed a mix of “Brick in the Wall” and “All Star” as additional entertainment for the students.

After all the scores were totaled, the results of the competition were sophomores in fourth place, freshmen in third, juniors in second, and seniors in first place for their third year in a row.

“I was pretty happy,” Becker said. “This was our third year winning, and we finished it off with a bang.”
