Everyone has something: something that causes pure joy and elation and lets people let go of responsibility and stress. For some people it’s reading, for others it’s sports, and for some, it’s video games.

“I play video games because it helps me relax at night,” said senior Hunter Doss. “It helps me forget about what happens in the day.”

There are many different genres of video games, including puzzles, simulations, action adventure, and more. There’s something for nearly everyone.

“[My favorite genre of video game is] PvP (player vs. player) because it’s fun to go against people,” said freshman Levi Mies.

People can also make good friends and memories online. Sophomore Lorenz Patterson plays games with friends from other towns.

“There was this funny time when I was playing Minecraft with my friends and I made a dirt house,” he said, “and some time later one of my other friends got mad and decided to burn down everything in the world, and the only thing that was standing was my dirt house, which was condemned and insulted.”
