If you’re like me, then you’re always looking for new ways to occupy your time. I have tried watching several of the newer Disney shows, but most of them are disgraces to the Disney name. However, “The Owl House” is not one of the catastrophe shows. It very quickly became my favorite show.

“The Owl House” is about a human teenage girl named Luz Noceda who stumbles upon a magical portal to The Boiling Isles where she meets Eda. Despite not having magical abilities, she eagerly joins Eda to fulfill her dream of becoming a witch.

Good messages like “Don’t conform to what everyone else wants” and “Be who you are” are spread throughout the entire show. It teaches kids, and honestly everyone, that it’s ok to be different. “The Owl House” also has great representation on a lot of fronts, with the main character being Latino and the first lead bisexual character in Disney. They also introduced the first non-binary character in Disney, Raine Whispers.

Despite the high ratings, some parents, especially strongly religious ones, have issues with the otherworldly mentions of demons, witchcraft, and sorcery. Some groups have petitioned to ban all witchcraft related content, according to moms.com.

I personally grew up on witchcraft-related ideas and sorcery themes so I find it as normal. I love this show and recommend it to all age groups. I rate this show 5 out of 5 cardinal heads.
