Do you have an eye for old, antique or repurposed furniture or home decor? Conway Springs has a new thrift store that opened Jan. 11. The store, T’s Thrifty Finds, was opened by a Conway Springs native, Trish Wright. She said her obsession started when a family friend of hers was cleaning out storage units and she saw all of the opportunities to repurpose furniture and many antique pieces. After that, she said she was hooked and started doing it as a hobby, and now has her own store-front.

After the January grand-opening, I went down to check the store out to get some decorations for my new house, and I was blown away by the amount of antiques and things I have never seen before. From toys, clothes, handmade soaps, handmade pillows and coasters to furniture — anything you could dream of, the store had. When most people think of a thrift store, they want a variety of options to look and choose from, and this store definitely meets those expectations.

Wright opening a thrift store in Conway Springs will help increase the local economy, and it seems to be drawing in a consistent amount of traffic. With the convenience of having a local store, you no longer have to drive 30 minutes to an hour to visit a thrift store. You can stay in the comfort of your hometown and support a local person and her business. I really enjoy being a part of a small town community that supports local businesses.

T’s Thrifty Finds has a variety of hours open during the week where everyone can get the chance to check out what kind of stuff she offers, no matter the work schedule. The store is on main street next to the Rural Health Clinic, and you can find the hours on her Facebook page. I give T’s Thrifty Finds 5/5 Cardinal heads.
