Volleyball season wraps up with a recognition

This year’s varsity volleyball season ended with a record of 4-28. Two varsity players received recognition awards this year. Senior Madison Pauly received an award for 2nd Team All League, and junior Kyla Echelberry received an award for Honorable Mention All League.

“I was surprised that I even received an award,” Echelberry said. “I was really happy about it though. We might not have won a lot of games this season, but we all worked really hard, and I had fun playing with my friends and teammates.”

The junior varsity ended their season with a record of 4-16, and the freshman-sophomore team ended their season with a record of 12-14. April Zoglmann, Whitney Long, and Terese Beal all coach the volleyball team. This is Coach Long’s second year coaching the team, and so far she has been a great addition.

“Ms. Long has coached us for two years now,” junior Karlie Biehler said. “I really enjoy having her as a coach. She’s a lot of fun, but she also knows when it’s time to be serious. Overall though, she’s really chill.”

Although the team’s season started off with a rough start, they worked together well and improved throughout the season. According to Coach Long, the team learned a lot about themselves throughout the season, and now know what they will need to improve on for next year.
